Main purpose of job:
To provide administrative and project support to the West Africa Regional Prosperity Network.
Roles and responsibilities / what will the jobholder be expected to achieve?:
The West Africa Prosperity Network operates through a number of British Embassies and High Commissions in the ECOWAS region. Our aim is to help the region realise its economic potential by opening markets, encouraging transparency, tackling corruption and promoting sustainable growth, whilst supporting UK companies to do business in the country.
Our priorities include improving the business environment, promoting effective governance of land and natural resources, and supporting regional integration and access to global markets.
We are now recruiting an administive and project assistant to join the team. The job holder will be based in Accra and is expected to provide administrative support to the Network and handle day to day management of projects in Ghana. This will include:
- Proactively maintaining West Africa Prosperity Network intranet pages
- Collating and managing an effective list of stakeholders across the region
- Helping to compile reports by conducting desk based research and coordinating returns
- Coordinating meetings and maintaining action logs
- Relationship manager for projects based in Ghana
- Planning and delivering events and visits to support prosperity activity in the region
- Provide administrative support to the Regional Prosperity Officer in developing futher project work across the region, and responding to queries in her absence.
- Must hold a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
- Must have at least 12 months work experience in an office environment
- Must have strong knowledge of MS Office programmes (Word/Excel/Powerpoint)
- Must be able to work unsupervised
- Must have good communication skills
- Knowledge of Economics, Trade/Commercial work is desirable
