Context
UK Trade & Investment is the arm of UK government responsible for supporting UK companies to export and for attracting foreign investment to the UK. Our work is focused on securing growth and jobs in the UK across sectors and across the country. Based in Hong Kong, this is an exciting role in a busy team. The successful candidate will support UK healthcare and education companies in doing business in Hong Kong, Macau and, working alongside our team in China, the wider Pearl River Delta. This will be achieved through the delivery of trade missions, events and VIP visits.
Main Responsibilities
- Organise the logistics for forthcoming trade missions and events e.g. confirming location, transport, food and beverage etc. Day to day admin for the healthcare and education team. Supporting the GREAT team on event planning and delivery.
- Support the marketing, communications and audience management side of trade mission to engage our key stakeholders in the run up to the event, including production of a mission brochure.
- Delivery of our overseas market introduction services to UK companies e.g. research, programme arranging, events.
- Excellent written and spoken English with the ability to produce and edit high-quality written English
- Strong IT skills (particularly Word, Excel)
- High self motivation, a flexible and resilient attitude, with a strong commitment to delivering projects often within tight deadlines, without supervision
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Knowledge of Cantonese would be an advantage but not essential
- Must have the appropriate residence status or a valid working visa in Hong Kong
